Although the Honeybee Gardens ShadowColors disaster was my first experience with Honeybee Gardens, their PowderColors Mineral Eye Shadow isn’t too bad. PowderColors are inexpensive ($4.99 ea) and stackable into little towers of crazy-colored powdered fun. You can purchase samples for only $0.50. I got samples of Passage to India (shimmery brown with red undertones) and Sedona (glittery bright gold). As far as colors go, these definitely don’t meet the requirements for daily staples, but Sedona is fun for evening. It’s definitely the most glittery eye shadow I’ve ever tried (I’m not into glitter, but love shimmer) and I didn’t like it at first, but it has grown on me. I think it would be especially spectacular on dark skin. Passage to India has too much of a red undertone in it (no one wants red eyes). I did notice creasing after an evening of wear. Fortunately, at these prices you really don’t have to take my word for it—go ahead and experiment yourself!
